As summer is approaching, everyone typically will start having their summer bodies and mind ready to party! But with the pandemic causing panic and everyone to stay at home, we are all left to melt away in our own homes in this blazing heat. Furthermore, you know how hot singapore can get, so why not cool yourself down with some ice cream? Plus, you do not need an ice cream machine for this. Here’s 5 simple ice cream recipes you can make at home. Trust me, it’s so worth it and it saves money.
Each recipe yields around 1.5 QUARTS. Do note that your whipping cream needs to have a a least a fat percentage of 35% in order to work. Your whipping cream also needs to be cold before you start in order to get the texture right.
Note: you need not follow the exact amount for condensed milk if you are going to add additional sweetener (eg: oreo / jam) thus, add to your taste. (personally i would add ¼ of a can)
cookies & cream ice cream
ingredients
Heavy cream / whipping cream – 2 cups
Condensed milk – 14oz / around 1.5 cups
- oreo cookies – 12 , crushed
- ½ teaspoon Vanilla extract / vanilla bean paste
instructions
In the bowl of an electric mixer, whip the cream until stiff peaks form. On low speed, mix in the condensed milk, vanilla. Add in your crushed oreo cookies and fold the mixture until everything is properly mixed. Pour into a container, cover the surface with plastic wrap, then seal. Freeze for at least 6 hours, or until firm. Keep stored in the freezer.
strawberry cheesecake
ingredients
Heavy cream / whipping cream – 2 cups
- Condensed milk – 14oz (around 1.5 cups)
- Cream cheese – 4oz (around 100 grams)
- Strawberries (chopped) – ½ cups
- Strawberry jam – ½ cup
- Graham crackers (crushed or coarsely chopped) – 4 pieces
instructions
In the bowl of an electric mixer, whip the cream until stiff peaks form. On low speed, mix in the condensed milk. Add in cream cheese , strawberries and jam. Then, whip until everything is incorporated. Afterwards, fold in crackers until everything is mixed in. Pour into a container, cover the surface with plastic wrap, then seal. Freeze for at least 6 hours, or until firm. Keep stored in the freezer.
**pro tip** you can add in additional graham crackers on top of your container before sealing it if you feeling extra bougie.
milo ice cream
ingredients
- Heavy cream / whipping cream – 2 cups
- Condensed milk – 14oz (around 1.5 cups)
- Milo powder – 1 cup

In the bowl of an electric mixer, whip the cream until stiff peaks form. On low speed, mix in the condensed milk. Add in milo powder and stir until everything is combined. Pour into a container, cover the surface with plastic wrap, then seal. Freeze for at least 6 hours, or until firm. Keep stored in the freezer.

Peanut butter / nutella / cookie butter
ingredients
- Heavy cream / whipping cream – 2 cups
- Condensed milk – 14oz (around 1.5 cups)
- Peanut / nutella / cookie butter spread – 1/2 cup to 1 cup

In the bowl of an electric mixer, whip the cream until stiff peaks form. On low speed, mix in the condensed milk. Add in your selected spread and mix everything until properly incorporated. Pour into a container, cover the surface with plastic wrap, then seal. Freeze for at least 6 hours, or until firm. Keep stored in the freezer.
rocky road
ingredients
- Heavy cream / whipping cream – 2 cups
- Condensed milk – 14oz (around 1.5 cups)
- Chocolate syrup – 1 cup
Toasted almonds – 1 cup
- Mini marshmallows – 1 cup
instructions
In the bowl of an electric mixer, whip the cream until stiff peaks form. On low speed, mix in the condensed milk. Add in the remaining ingredients by swirling into ice cream. Pour into a container, cover the surface with plastic wrap, then seal. Freeze for at least 6 hours, or until firm. Keep stored in the freezer.
